BENIN CITY- The Planning Committee for the formal launch of the book titled OBA OVONRANMWEN N’OGBAISI IN CALABAR1897-1914 THE UNTOLD STORY, written by Simeon Owie, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the General Manager of Bendel Newspapers Company Limited (BNCL), publishers of Observer titles, in Benin City.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Osagiobare of Benin Kingdom, Chief Eseosa Eghobamien, stated that the committee was in the office of the GM, to solicit for assistance, especially in the area of publicity.
He further stated that the book contained vital and necessary information that were yet to be given desired attention.
Chief Eghobamien noted that the book would be formally launched on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Oba Akenzua 11 Cultural Centre, Airport Road, Benin City beginning from 11.00 am.
Responding, the General Manager of Bendel Newspapers Company Limited (BNCL) Mr. Dennis Omoregie, assured that BNCL would do all within its reach to give necessary publicity to the book as well as its formal launch billed for next weekend.
Mr. Omoregie informed the visiting committee that BNCL had gone a step further in the quest to reach-out to members of the public in term of information dissemination, as the observer titles could now be accessed on the internet
