BENIN CITY ––The President, Afenmai Youths Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice, Hon. Sanni Collins Ojo says Edo North Senatorial District had benefited immensely from the socio-economic developmental drive of Governor Oserheimen Osunbor’s administration.
Speaking yesterday in Benin City at the Independence Day celebration at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Ojo listed roads, hospitals, water, electricity, and employment amongst other areas the district had benefited.
He however urged the state government to consider other area yet to enjoy these benefits especially in the area of electricity and roads.
The Coalition President who is also a member of the State Taskforce on Forestry appealed to the State Governor to support the agitation of the Afenmai people for the creation of more additional council areas especially in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area saying the area has’been long marginalised in the scheme of things.
The Coalition, he said had been protecting and projecting issues that benefited the Senatorial District and lauded the state government’s effort in bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people of the area.
He said that the coalition on the past had advocated for the creation of Afenmesan State, additional local government councils, provision of infrastructure and exploration of various solid mineral deposit in the area.
He commended the council chairmen in the districts for complementing the developmental drive of Governor Osunbor in the state by embarking on various projects that would bring succour to the plight of the people at the grassroots.
