Jehovah’s Witnesses begin convention tomorrow

BENIN CITY- The first of the Annual District Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses entitled, “GUIDED BY GOD’S SPIRIT”, aimed at finding reliable guidance in this crooked world, is billed to kick off tomorrow, Friday and end on Sunday.

The venue is the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Ikhueniro, kilometer 11, Benin – Agbor Highway.

A statement by Bro. J.O Edokpayi, News Service Overseer, indicated that no fewer than 10 of such conventions are expected to hold subsequently every weekend from Friday to Sunday between now and December this year.

On Friday, the programme will start at 9.20 am and open to members of the public while admission is free and there will be no collections taken.

The programme according to the statement will focus on why reliable guidance is needed today and where people can turn for trust – worthy advice in all aspects of life.

The statement said Witnesses also look forward to welcoming many non-witnesses to the conventions with a firm belief that all who attend would benefit from the practical information to be presented.

About 254 conventions are expected to hold in 31 different towns and cities across the country between now and January next year.

There are nearly seven billion witnesses in over 101,000 congregations worldwide.
In 2007, more than 12 million people attended over 3,200 of the witnesses conventions around the world.
