Lagos: Owo High School (founded 1963) is set to become the envy of other secondary schools in Ondo State as the alumni of the school gathered to strategize on requisite development projects to elevate the school to Grade A status.

The epic event, which took place at the popular N.U.J. Press Centre in the ever busy Alagbaka area of Akure in Ondo State , weekend, had in attendance, a group of prominent alumni of the school. In a thought provoking speech, Barrister Aderinboye lamented that “A visit to Owo High School leaves one depressed because the school presently paints a gory picture of its old glorious days. Truly, we have abandoned our Alma Mater.

“Adding that ìWe must appreciate God for all His favours by giving back something to sustain focused development for future generations.”

Harmoniously, Barrister Bola Kayode, Chairman Event planning Committee said “The vision is to rescue the school from educational and infrastructural decay.”

Adding that, The forum is a rallying point which provides an automatic platform for social affinity as well as a proper communication and interactive channel for all alumni”. The forum will constitute an Old Studentsí Reunion Committee.

Unfolding the schoolís development plan, the Alumni Association enjoined all old students in Nigeria and in diaspora to join hands and help to elevate the schoolís status. Projects outlined for execution are; the renovation of existing structures and facilities such as classrooms, hall, laboratories, home economic kitchen, water supply and sporting facilities.

Aragbaye and Engr. S.J. Olotu. Responding on behalf of the awardees, Dr. Omoloja enthused that he would rally key influencers in the state and beyond to give their best support.

Earlier on, in his address, the principal of Owo High School , Mr. Adekunle Salami charged all present to think not of the next election but of the next generation.

“On our part as current Managers of the institution, we have vowed to bring back discipline, hardwork and integrity. Baba (Pa Ajasin) in his life time manifested these traits, you will agree with us that these three distinctives are the hallmark of great minds”, he said.
