Daniel Tasks Citizens On Nigeria’s Dev

ABEOKUTA- Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State has described Nigeria as a project in progress that needs the concerted, devoted contributions of all the stakeholders.

In his Sallah and independence anniversary message, issued by Mr. Kayode Samuel, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, in Abeokuta , the governor said: “Such devotion was necessary for the project to be successfully executed.

“He said that the coincidence of the nation’s independence celebration with that of Eid-El-Fitr was divine, urging Muslims to sustain the lessons they imbibed during the 30-day fasting period in their day-to-day activities.

Daniel said that the lessons of love, sacrifice, self denial and devotion which the Ramadan period taught, should continue to be the guiding principles of Muslims and Nigerians in general.

“I urge you to continue to pray for the country and its leadership.

“‘For our nation to make progress, all of us, irrespective of our creed and religion, should continue to promote peace and harmony in all that we do,” Daniel said. He said that in spite of the failures of the past and challenges of the present, Nigeria would get “to the do away with those things that divide us and promote those things that unite us. “God has been kind to us as a nation and it is crucial for us to tap into our huge natural and human resources to build a virile and prosperous nation that will endure,” Daniel said in the message.
