ASABA - The Chief Imam of Asaba Central Mosque, Alhaji Rabiu Haruna, has urged Nigerians to obey their leaders so that peace will reign in the country.
Haruna made the call in Asaba during 2008 Eid-el fitri prayers held at Muslim praying ground, Asaba.
He said that Nigerians should take a lesson from the Ramadan fasting, which was an order from the creator that all Muslims must obey and observe.
The chief imam said that obedience to constituted authority was in accordance with the will of the creator.
Haruna also urged Muslims to keep doing all thaos things that they did during the month of Ramadan so that they do not fall back to evil things.
The chief imam said that abstinence from evil things would help man in spiritual growth “and when man is lifted spiritually, then he will attain everything’’.
He further called on governments at all levels to cater for the needs of those they govern and to have the fear of God in their actions.
Thousands of Muslims were present at the praying ground to celebrate this year Eid-el filtri in Asaba.
