Egor Vice Chairmanship: Court restrains EDHA, Speaker

 

BENIN CITY ––A Benin High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice H. A. Courage-Ogbebor, has granted an interim injunction, restraining the Edo State House of Assembly, its Speaker (who are 1st and 2nd defendants), their agents, privies or whosoever, from enforcing or giving effect to their resolution to remove Hon. Nomuobiekpen Igbinosun, (Plaintiff/Applicant) from office as Vice-Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice fixed for October 13, 2008.


The judge also restrained Hon. Kingsley Igbe (3rd defendant), from resuming office as Vice-Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, based on the resolution made by the 1st and 2nd defendants, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.


Justice Courage-Ogbebor gave the order yesterday after the court heard from Nosa Obaizamomwan, Esq who stood in for the plaintiff applicant.
