BENIN CITY – Edo State Government through the Board of Internal Revenue, has approved 20 pools promoters to operate pools betting business this week in the state.
Those approved include: Rocky Pools Limited, Soccer Pools Limited, Flash Pools Limited, Moonborn Pools Limited, Victino Pools Limited, Jubilee Pools Limited, Perfect Pools Limited, Destiny Pools Limited, Darlington Pools Limited, Mars Pool Limited, Wesco Pools Limited and Bolton Pools Limited.
Also approved are Arsenal Pools limited, Authentic Pools Limited, J-Res Pools Limited, Uwanosa Pools Limited, Ehimama Pools Limited, Wigan Pools Limited, Portsmouth Pools Limited and Benco Pools Limited.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary/Chairman, Edo State Board of Internal Revenue, Dr. Osayande Ugiagbe, however barred three pools promoters from operating pools betting business this week due to their indebtedness to Edo State government.
The affected pools promoters are New Niger Pools Limited, Felisco Pools Limited and C.BA. Pools Limited.
The statement advised members of the public not to transact pools betting business with the blacklisted pools promoters, adding that anyone who ignored the advice did so at his own risk.
The release further stated that any pools promoter who transacted pools betting business in Edo State illegally, would be prosecuted, just as it noted that the approved commission is 40k according to the extant rules on pools betting and that no bonanza in the state.
