WCCM vows to change youths

BENIN CITY – A group of young people under the auspices of the Changers Christian Movement (WCCM), has identified the need to raise young generations that will change the nation, 10 ways in 10 years.


The president of the WCCM, Evangelist Eric Israel – Okere who noted that by the year 2035, Nigeria would be the most celebrated nation in the world, said that the movement was founded on 10 basic tenets that would establish righteousness to impact positive changes in the nation.


Evangelist Okere, however, advocated for the youth empowerment to enable them lead the nation with positive change.


The 10 basic tenets towards moving Nigeria forward to include purity, humility, dignity, integrity, sincerity, unity, magnanimity, honesty, reliability as well as responsibility, said that the WCCM was organised in line with the celebration of Nigeria’s 48th Independence anniversary to disseminate information that would inspire the young generation to start the change in Nigeria, enjoining everyone to pray for Nigeria.


The vice president of human resources, Unilever, Central Africa, Mrs. Fedilia Osime, who delivered a keynote address on the topic: “Change Agent” called for determination if Nigeria must witness a change, urging the youths to portray good character, as well as good behaviour, saying that as a change agent one needed to be accountable to him/ herself by first affecting the lives of everyone around him.


Mrs. Osime who urged parents to teach their children the word of God however, admonished the young generation to show honour as well as respect for their parents.


Highpoint of the ceremony were the award of certificates of recognition as well as excellence to deserving students in Edo State in recognition of the fight against cultism on campuses.
