Plateau Utd FC Eyes Promotion

 

JOS – Mr. Yakubu Taddy, the General Manager, Plateau United FC of Jos, has said that the club has acquired the services of talented players to ensure its promotion at the end of the 2008/2009 season.


Taddy told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos that, the management, technical crew and players had prepared adequately to ensure that the club did not miss promotion.


In the past three seasons, the club had strived unsuccessfully to return to the Premiership. He disclosed that, the players recruited this season had the potential to ensure that the ambition of promotion was realised.


According to him, the players recruited are hungry for fame and honour, which informs the club’s policy of giving them the opportunity to prove themselves.


Commenting on calibre of the coaches, he said, he was optimistic on their ability to harness the talents of the players and move them to the premiership Taddy disclosed that, the appointment of Victor Wikadson as the Chief Coach was well deserved, because having worked with seasoned coaches, he had the requisite experience to be a head coach.


The General Manager said that with a recent truce with other clubs, Plateau United was in the best of position to gain promotion.
