Nathaniel Angry With Nigerians

LONDON-Chris Nathaniel says he is not happy that Nigerians have branded the bid to buy Newcastle a fraudulent one.

Nathaniel leads NVA, a management group trying to gather a consortium of Nigerian business men who plan to buy embattled English Premier League side, Newcastle United.

He told KickOffNigeria.com that he feels bad that Nigerians even doubt the authenticity of the bid when they should be happy that something good is coming out of Nigeria.

“For the information of those who want to know, we lodged our official bid on Friday and we are very serious about it.

“I wonder why people think it is not authentic,” Nathaniel fumed.

“It is now for the owner, Mike Ashley to accept or reject the bid but we are confident and hopeful it will sail through.”

He told KickOffNigeria.com that the excess fund the consortium were looking for was for transfers and youth development and the purchase of another club in Belgium and Nigeria to act as feeder clubs, but they have abandoned that idea for now.

“For now we will just stick to Newcastle and hope we can make history for being the first black consortium to own an English Premiership club.”
