Igbo Students Celebrate Cultural Day

BENIN CITY - The Ekenwan Campus of the University of Benin, Benin City will tomorrow witness a beehive of cultural activities as the Igbo Students Community of the University celebrate their Cultural Day/Almanac Launching beginning at 2.00pm.


This was made known in a release jointly signed by the President, Mr. Francis Duru, the Secretary General, Ms Nkiru Onyenakazi and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Mr. Arinze Egbonuba in the state capital.


Speaking on the essence of the cultural celebration, the LOC chairman said that it was geared towards the promotion of Igbo cultural heritage and its unity in diaspora.


“It is a day all Igbo students in Uniben irrespective of their state and region will come together under one umbrella to embrace themselves as brothers and sisters, to show love and the unity amongst us.


However, the occasion which promises to be filled with thrills and frills will feature cultural dance, jokes, drama, fashion parade among others.
