El-Merreikh Sign Worgu

KHARTOUM - Enyimba International of Aba striker, Stephen Worgu was officially unveiled yesterday as a player of El-Merreikh of Sudan, after he agreed personal terms to join the club.

The CAF Champions League top scorer (with 13 goals) joined the club on Monday night in Khartoum, where he and his agent agreed and completed contractual terms with the Sudanese outfit.

Reports indicate that Worgu has penned a three-year deal with the Sudanese side, which would bring total cost, personal terms and Enyimba’s transfer fee to 4.5 million dollars.

In contrast with initial talk that Al-Ahly of Egypt had made the first move for Worgu, El-Merreikh insist they first showed interest before the Egyptians joined the chase.
