BNCL Acting GM advises NUPPPPROW exco

BENIN CITY ––The Acting General Manager of the Bendel Newspapers Company Limited, (BNCL), publishers of The OBSERVER titles, Mr. Dennis Omoregie has advised the newly elected members of the National Union of Printing, Publishing, Paper Product Workers (NUPPPPROW), Observer chapter, to imbibe the culture of honesty and transparency in the course of carrying out their duties.


He gave the advice while playing host to the new executive council members who paid him a courtesy visit yesterday at the corporate headquarters of the BNCL, in Benin City.


While urging the newly elected exco to do everything possible in ensuring a successful tenure, the acting General Manager, however, declared the company’s readiness to support the union, adding that there was the need for the executive of the union to carry along, their members who gave them the mandate to run the union’s affairs. He, however, said that due process was followed in the promotion exercise.


Earlier, the Chairman of the NUPPPPROW, Comrade Amadasun Ese, said that the union was on the visit to solicit support from the management staff of the company to effectively carry out its duties.


Comrade Amadasun said that he would always remember the 23rd of October as he did not only win in the election but workers expressed their grievances through votes. He listed the grievance to include the issue of unnecessary posting of workers as well as promotions, expressing the need for the management to address them.
