BENIN CITY –The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, Edo State, Mrs. Caroline Edo-Osagie was yesterday conferred with an Award of Excellence by the Searchlight Newspaper as the most outstanding female Permanent Secretary in Edo State, 2008.
Shortly before presenting the Award of Excellence to the permanent Secretary, the Publisher of the newspaper, Mr. Emmanuel Ugiagbe, stated that as part of its efforts to encourage Nigerians especially those who had meaningfully contributed their quota in various fields of human endeavour to the upliftment of the country, decided to map out strategies with a view to honouring such Nigerians to serve as a catalyst to make them do more for the betterment of the society.
Mr. Ugiagbe noted that the Searchlight Newspaper had been monitoring the commitment and dedication of Mrs. Caroline Edo-Osagie, especially during when she superintended over the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.
It will be recalled that some few months back, she was applauded for her brilliant performances while briefing the honourable members of the Edo State House of Assembly on the activities of her ministry.
More so, since assumption of office as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Edo State, stronger ties in terms of good working relationship between members of staff had been established in the administration of the ministry.
Responding, Mrs. Edo-Osagie expressed delight that her contributions to the society were being monitored by the pen profession, stressing that it was indeed a unique and privileged opportunity to identify her efforts.
Mrs. Edo-Osagie was quick to draw the attention of the management team of the Searchlight Newspaper to the fact that the recent performance at the Edo State House of Assembly, was a product of the collective efforts of the dedicated members of staff of the ministry as well as the parastatals under the ministry, whom she regarded as loyal and upright in the discharge of their onerous task assigned to them. Mrs. Edo-Osagie disclosed that members of staff has promised to carryout the policies and programmes of the Governor Oserheimen Osunbor-led administration with high sense of responsibility.
She promised to uphold the good working relationship with the publisher of the Searchlight Newspaper and wished the team a fruitful and positive venture in their future endeavours.
