LAGOS - World 60-metre indoor champion and Africa ‘s fastest man, Olusoji Fasuba, has expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State Government for supporting his sporting career.
Fasuba anchored the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to the first position in the 4x100 metres invitational relay at the grand finale of the Nigeria Police Games, on Saturday in Lagos.
“The government of my home state, (Ekiti) has been quite supportive; I am grateful,” said Fasuba in an interview with reporters at the National Stadium, Lagos, after the race.

Beijing Olympics to the injury he sustained at the Mobil-sponsored trials, prior to the Games.
He pledged to commence training very soon for the 2010 Commonwealth
Games in India and the 2012 Olympic Games in England .
The NSCDC quartet comprising Ahmed Ajiboye, Isaac Uche, Chinedu Oriala and Fasuba clocked 41.05 secs while the Nigerian Army came second in 41. 25 secs.
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) placed third with a time of 41.95
secs.
NSCDC also led the pack in the female invitational relay, returning in 45.85 secs and were followed by the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) in 47. 16 secs.
The Police, however, came third returning a time of 47.21 seconds.
Zone Nine won the men’s 4x100 metres relay, breasting the tape in 42.46 secs, followed by Zone Seven with a time of 43.11 secs and in third place was Zone Two in a time of 43.33 secs.
The women’s race was won by Zone Five in 47. 61 secs while Zone Six placed second with a time of 48.47 secs and Zone Two finished third in 49.09 secs.
