UBTH Set To Upgrade Facilities ...Plans 35th Anniversary Celebration

BENIN CITY - Patients with kidney-related illnesses and bone-marrow will soon heave a sign of relief as the authorities of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) plan to put in place facilities that would take care of such ailments.


Prof. Gregory Akenzua, the Enogie Evbobanosa and the chairman of the 35th Anniversary Planning Committee UBTH disclose this when he led other members of the committee on a courtesy visit to the Oba at the Palace yesterday.


He informed the Oba that they were on advocacy visit to the palace on the 35th anniversary celebration of UBTH coming up in November.

 

He said for many years there were a lot of uncompleted buildings in the premises before now which have been completed by the present administration of the hospital.


Prof. Akenzua added that as part of the 35th anniversary celebration there will be a launching of half a billion naria endowment fund which will be use to further inprove on the facilities of the hospital, like the intensive care unit, neo-natal and kidney/bone-marrow transplant instead of going abroad to have it done.


He further added that some of the project which have been completed will be commissioned during the anniversary celebration.


He then solicited for prayer and support for the committee to carryout its work.


The Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa enjoined the committee to intimate the palace when the time comes for the launching of the endowment fund and wished the 35th anniversary planning committee success in its assignment.
