Police Hand Over Four Drug Retailers To NDLEA

LAGOS -The anti-vice squad of the Lagos State Police Command has transferred four suspected drug retailers to the NDLEA at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.

Reports say that the suspects were handed over to the NDLEA with seized side glass tubes and one small gas burner for burning the substance, popularly known as ‘stems’ for inhaling emitted gas from burnt substances.

Other items recovered include three bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and several wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine.

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested in Atobaje area of Agege a week ago during a raid led by CSP Edward Ajogun, commander of the squad.

Two of the suspects who confessed their involvement in the retail business, claimed they were arrested during their second outing to collect supplies from the dealer.

They claimed that the drug dealer was an old woman now at large, while the other two denied their involvement in the crime, claiming they were mere visitors.

Police spokesman Frank Mba explained that the transfer of the case to the NDLEA was to enable the agency conduct further investigations.
