Family Saga: Walter Aku Eribo Run For His Life

BENIN CITY - The Nigeria Police Force have declared one Walter Aku Eribo wanted in connection with the death of his father, Mr. Osayi Eribo, who was murdered on the 10th of January, 2007.


Investigation however revealed that Walter Aku Eribo and the mother has not been in the good books of his late father, Mr. Osayi, who allegedly blamed Walter’s mother for the death of their first son.


It was further revealed that Walter Aku Eribo accosted his father on while he neglected him and an argument ensured and Walter was shot by his father, Mr. Osayi Eribo but he survived the ordeal.


The no love lost relationship between father and son was further aggravated when Mr. Osayi Eribo was alleged to have raped his son’s (Walter) wife in 2003.


Mr. Osayi Eribo further accused Walter Aku Eribo of threatening and plotting to kill him in 2006 because of several threat letters he received from unknown persons. He reported the matter to the police and Walter was arrested and later granted bail.


In January of 2007, Walter Aku Eribo was arrested by the police for the murder of his father, Mr. Osayi Eribo. Investigation also revealed that Walter was beaten, tortured and threatened.

 

He was told to admit to the killing of his father. He was locked up in detention till October 2007. the father’s family now took over the case and wanted him death.

 

It was alleged that the family members bribed the police to frame Walter for the murder. Sources close to this reporter said that the family members wanted the properties of their late brother and Walter been the eldest child is now an obstacle.


Luck, however shone on Walter Aku Eribo, when two other detainees and Walter were to be executed. One of the officers sent to execute them set Walter free. He ran to Lagos state. Family members and police trail him to Lagos State when the harassment became too much, Walter ran away to unknown destination.


As at the time of writing this report, the whereabout of Walter Aku Eribo is still unknown as he may have fled for his life.
