BENIN CITY – Poised to control all forms of intra and inter-state Criminal Operations, the Police in Edo State have apprehended three persons believed to have successfully robbed a jewelry shop in Delta State and carted away, melted gold valued at over N3 million.

Parading the three suspects along with their loot at the state Police Command headquarters, Benin City recently, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, ASP Peter Ogboi told newsmen that soon after their onslaught on the shop in Delta State, the police in Delta sent a radio signal to Edo State Police Command, a development, ASP Ogboi said prompted men of the command to embark on stop-and-search of vehicles along major entrances and exits of Benin City.
Continuing, ASP Ogboi added that the suspects who could not transport their loot to Lagos as earlier planned, possibly due to police presence on the road, decided to sell them to one Alhaji along Ring Road, in the state capital.

One of the suspects, Ayellow, it was gathered, hinted others that their victim, Alhaji Nunu had plenty of melted gold in his shop and that a strike would change their status forever.
