Be Alive To Your Responsibilities ...Magic FC Coach Tells NFF

Stories By NICHOLAS EBOIGBE

BENIN CITY -The Coach of the Magic Football Club, Jimmy Aimuagbonrie has appealed to the Nigerian football authorities to be alive to their responsibilities by promoting and developing the country’s female soccer better than what it is now.

Coach Aimuagbonrie explained that the country’s soccer body, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have tried in developing the game in Nigeria but that it still has a lot to’do in terms of welfare of players, promotion and development of the sport.

“I was in Togo sometime ago and I saw the structures they have, I was highly amazed! Agreed that we are presently the leading country in Africa in female football, all I am saying here is that other African countries are fast developing such that if we don’t raise our standard, they will start defeating us in subsequent continental competitions.”

He suggested that the Nigeria Football Federation should begin better and laudable programmes for the game by influencing multinational bodies to sponsor the female league each year. He should also ensure that female football is well sponsored at the state levels, female players must be well paid so as to increase their quality and thereby improve on the standard of the game.

“You see, female players that ply their trade in the clubs that participate in the Nigerian female league should have good remunerations. This will encourage them to put in more interest. It will also lure others to show interest and play the game. The NFF can involve the states government to influence companies to sponsor their clubs.”

He advised the NFF to invite players from private female clubs to the national teams.

“I have a football Academy -Magic Force Football Academy. We have the male and female team. We train players in the classroom and on the field practically too. So the NFF can come to us to pick players. We can do better in the World Cup. It depends on the quality of the NFF’s programme.’”The young coach enthused.
