ENUGU- As part of activities to mark the 2008 World Postal Day, the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), Enugu Area Territory, has concluded plans to organise inter-secondary schools debate.
The celebration of World Postal Day comes up on October 9. A statement signed by Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the territory, Mrs. Dorothy Chukwuma, gave the topic of the debate as: “Letter Writing Is A Better Means of Communication Than The Global System for Communication (GSM)”. It named College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) and the Queens School , Enugu as the two secondary schools to feature in the debate, scheduled for October 9, at the General Post Office Compound on Okpara Avenue.
The statement also noted that the schools would be presented novels as prizes while other gifts items would be given out to other participants.
It explained that the debate was meant to inform and educate the public on the importance of letter writing as part of communication as well as use the forum to showcase NIPOST’s quick delivery system now in operation. It urged on the general public to attend the postal day so as to acquaint themselves with the activities and operations of the service.
