I’m Still Occupying My Official Quarters In Govt House - Deputy Governor

EDO State Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Imasuen has described as uncharitable a recent publication alleging that he is already parking his belongings out of his official residence.


In his first official reaction since the publication by a national newspapers early this week, the deputy governor attributed such rumour as emanating from the main opposition party (Action Congress) in the state.


He expressed dismay with the way the Action Congress (AC) is peddling unfounded rumours saying the issue of packing out of his official residence does not arise since victory is sure for the present government at the election petitions appeal tribunal.


According to him, judging by the evidence before the appeal court, PDP will emerge victorious on that day (Tuesday next week).


The deputy governor used the occasion to appeal to the people of the state, irrespective of party affiliation to be law abiding on the appeal tribunal as the various security agencies will be on hand to check lawlessness.
“My appeal to the people is that they should remain calm, the verdict of the appeal court on that day is not the end of the world’, he said.


Judging from the past, Mr. Imasuen remarked that, supporters of AC have been so violent on court sitting days.


He said the Action Congress is already gathering bike riders and re-negotiating their prizes, paying as much as N1,000 per individual in order to make themselves available for solidarity march on Tuesday.


However, he disclosed that security personnel were being mobilised to beef up security of lives and property on the judgement day.


Attesting to the popularity of the Professor Oserheime Osunbor led government, the deputy governor attributed it to the positive impact the government has had on the lives of every citizens of the state.


Speaking on the boundary dispute between Edo and neighbouring Delta States, Mr. Imasuen remarked that, Edo State government does not accept the manner in which indigenes of Delta State cross-over to communities in Edo for the purpose of intimidating inhabitants.
