The Kwara Government has advised parents and guardians to educate their children and wards not to accept lifts from unknown persons.
The advice is contained in a statement, issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Saka Onimago, in Ilorin today.
The SSG pointed out that the warning was necessitated by reports on the activities of kidnappers in neighbouring states.
He explained that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had been directed to inform parents, guardians and children to be security conscious.
The secretary also warned sellers of alcoholic drinks in motor parks across the state to stop the business immediately to avoid punishment.
He said the warning became necessary in view of recent discovery that many avoidable road accidents had been attributed to the consumption of alcohol by commercial drivers shortly before take-off from the parks.
