THE Edo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Brown Ebewele has affirmed his belief that Bendel Insurance FC will grow to become the great team it used to be saying it is just a matter of time.
Responding to questions from sports journalists recently in the state capital on the club’s week 2 performances against Anambra United, he felt it was too early to start casting aspersion on the club, as the league was just beginning.
“There is no doubt that they didn’t perform well in today’s match, but that is not to say, it is a bad team, the league is just beginning and is too early to start casting aspersions.
“But, I know for sure, this club will grow to become a stronger club, there is no doubt about it, is just a matter of time, we will get there”, he said.
In a related development, the Hon. Commissioner has commended the state athletes that just left the festival camp for their orderly behaviour while the camping lasted wishing them a happy break ahead of the resumption of camping just as he enjoined them to keep away from anything that will be inimical to their health.
“I thank you for being well behaved while the camping lasted. You have to enjoy yourselves as the break lasts and do not do anything that will land you in trouble. We don’t know when government will call for resumption. But you all will be communicated on further development”, he said.
Hon. Ebewele however, extended his appreciation to the cleaners to saying “for once the stadium and its environs was wearing a clean look”, urging them not to relent in their efforts as they will surely be rewarded.
