Katsina - The Katsina
State Government has spent N107 million on the establishment of 48 paint and chalk cottage industries in the state.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Resource Development, Mr. Musa Nashuni, told newsmen in Katsina that the industries had already started operation.
He said more than 500 youths were working at the industries, adding that the state government had completed arrangements to train more youths to be employed in the factories.
The Special Adviser also said that the state executive council has approved the establishment of four fertiliser plants in the state.
He said work on the projects would soon start, adding that the plants would be sited at Batsari, Safana, Mai’adua and Bakori local government areas.
On solid minerals, Nashuni said the state government had directed the department of resource development to compile a list of solid minerals found in the state.
This, he said, would provide investors with information on the availability and location of mineral deposits in the state.
