BENIN CITY – Oredo local government council has assured of its readiness to pursue a comprehensive health programme that will see each of the 12 political wards in the locality having a health centre for the use of the people.
Council chairman, Hon. Mike Nosa-Ehima, gave the hint while receiving hospital equipment supplied to Oredo Local Government Council, by the Millennium Development Goal CGS Project 2007, under the direct supervision of the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima maintained that because of the high premium his administration placed on the good health of the people, four Health Centres had been completed for use in Ward two, which is the rural segment of the local government area.
The Council Boss noted that the four health centres, located at Ekae, Evbuodia, Emwinyomwan and Ugogogin communities, would receive the first batch of supplies which council considers the possibility of other wards benefiting from the health agenda.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima stressed that the primary Health Centre in Oredo ward seven, co-financed by the World Bank, would soon be rehabilitated and made functional again to attend to the health needs of the people in that locality.
