UROMI – Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor on Sunday led a delegation of the state government on a condolence visit to the Onolemhenmhen family of Eguare-Uromi, on the death of their father, Pa Anthony Onolemhenmhen, father of the immediate past Minister of State for Defence, Arc. Mike Onolemhenmhen.
Commiserating with the bereaved family, Prof. Osunbor described Late Pa.
Onolemhenmhen as a prominent community leader, teacher, forest administrator and politician who gave his children the best in life and enjoined them to be consoled by the fulfilled life their late father led and the legacies he left behind, adding that death was a debt owed by all mortals.
He assured the family of the necessary support at this trying period of their bereavement.
Responding on behalf of the family, Arc Mike Onolemhenmhen thanked Governor Osunbor and his delegation for the visit which, he said, had further comforted the family just as he expressed joy that their father lived well and passed on peacefully.
The governor was accompanied by the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Zakawanu Garuba, some legislators, commissioners and party leaders.
Pa Anthony Onolemhenmhen passed on at the age of 83 years on Friday September 5, 2008 and he is survived by children and grand-children, including Prof. Patrick Onolemhenmhen of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and Arc. Mike Onolemhenmhen. He will be buried on October 3, 2008.
