Go back to work, Udo community appeals to Okomu workers

UDO – The Udo Community in Ovia South-West Local Government Area in Edo State has declared that it is neither directly nor indirectly involved in the internal problem of Okomu Oil Palm Plc.

In a statement signed by Hon. S. E. Ekeneza (JP); the Odionwere of Udo, Pa Unuagbon Uwagboe; and the Ogiefa of Udo, the community dissociated itself from the purported announcement made recently in some electronic media by some group of people in Udo, that the Managing Director (MD) of Okomu Oil Palm Plc must go.

The community in the statement declared unequivocally that the MD should come back to Okomu as soon as possible to resume his duties.

The community, however, advised the management of Okomu Oil, to look inwards, as the problem in Okomu was the ripple effect of the nefarious activities of some members of management planning to cause disaffection in the company for their selfish interest, using the workers to confront the management.

The statement said that Okomu Oil Palm Plc was one of the most viable companies in the community which had contributed a lot to the development of Udo Community through employment of the indigenes.
