BENIN CITY - The captain of Edo State Female Rugby football team, Adebimpe Johnson will not stop telling those who care to listen that her team will not leave any stone unturned to win gold medals at the Kaduna 2008 National Sports Festival billed for November.
Adebimpe led the Edo State Females Rugby team to win the first National Female Rugby football championship held recently at the National Stadium in Lagos.
“I am glad that we were able to win the trophy of the first National female Rugby football championship at the National stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Six teams from six states in the country participated in the competition”.
The Edo Rugby football captain believers that their good performance in the championship will help ginger up the team to repeat such feet in subsequent competitions including the National sports Festival in Kaduna.
The fomer Inneh Queens football club player disclosed that the secret of their success in the championship was intensive training which came from the technical knowledge of the game courtesy their Head Coach, Ntiese Williams.
She is optimistic that they will improve on the three gold medals they won for the state at the Gateway 2006 National Sports Festsival.
