Shun crime, Ehima advises youths

BENIN CITY - Chairman, Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Mike Nosa-Ehima, has urged youths in Edo State to complement the laudable efforts of the state government in the area of securing a bright future for them, by shunning crime and other anti-social tendencies.

Hon. Nosa-Ehima, while speaking on the occasion of this year’s International Youth Week Celebration, warned the youths against being used as canon folders or agents of destabilization by elements who neither wish them nor the society well.

The Oredo Council boss reiterated the huge investment the state government was making in the educational sector, where students are paid bursary and teachers are paid as and when due, even as funds have been released for the accreditation of more courses in state-owned tertiary institutions.

Hon. Nosa-Ehima, while noting that the state government was doing all that to ensure that youths of today had a better future, enjoined youths to remain focused in their different endeavours.

The Council boss also reminded the youths of the different steps Oredo Local Government Council had taken to equip and empower youths in the locality.

Hon. Nosa-Ehima noted that one of such steps was the furnishing of two Oredo Skills Acquisition Centres, where youths register free of charge, to learn marketable skills that would make them, not only self employed, but also employers of labour.
