PDP Dep Chairman Charges Council Chairmen

By CLIFFORD ABGAJOR

BENIN CITY- The Deputy Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State, Chief Clement Ben Edo- Osagie, has enjoined the recently sworn-in chairmen of Esan Central, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government councils of the state, to replicate what the state Governor, Senator Oserheimen Osunbor, is doing at the state level in their respective council areas.

He gave the advice during a chat with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City, recently.

Chief Ben Edo-Osagie urged the new council chairmen to make the welfare and well-being of the people in their respective council their priority by embarking on meaningful projects that will better the fortunes of those residing in the three local government areas.

The deputy chairman also used the opportunity to appeal to the inhabitants of the three local government areas to cooperate with their respective council chairmen, noting that with the support and cooperation of the people, the chairmen would live up to expectation.

On the recent pronouncement of the national body (NEC) of the PDP after its 45th meeting in Abuja, that, it would henceforth make the necessary rules and regulations the watchword of the party on nomination issue(s), Hon. Ben Edo-Osagie applauded the development, stressing that it would further help to reposition the party.

While noting that the political process in the country was still evolving, the Edo State deputy chairman of PDP expressed the hope that with time, PDP would over come its internal problems and become a reference point in the political scene, just as he noted that the recent statement of INEC, in which it ordered the reconduct of congresses in 10 states of the federation excluding Edo State was a vindication that the Sado-led PDP Executive in Edo State was elected accordingly.
