Auchi – Parents and guardians have been urged to join in the vanguard and fight the “War Against Bad Character or behaviour in the child”.
The Head mistress of Rev. Fr. Grace Memorial Education Centre, Auchi, Rev. Sr. Gloria Itebalumhe (SSH) made the clarion call in her address delivered at the 10th graduation ceremony of the education centre in Auchi.
Rev. Sr. Itebalumhe observed with dissatisfaction that most parents/guardians were becoming too busy to the extent that they had little or no time to monitor their children, the company they keep, and access their educational performances to ensure that their children were doing well at school.
She adviced the parents/guardians of the graduates to continue to give their wards the best education, and moral training, guidance and councelling at appropriate times to enable them grow into responsible and patriotic leaders and citizens of this great nation.
The headmistress therefore commended the proprietor of Rev. Fr. Grace Memorial Education Centre, Auchi, Most Rev. Dr. G.G. Dunia, the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Auchi and other philanthropists for helping the school to grow up to the stage it is now, and special gratitude to Bishop G.G. Dunia for his gallant efforts in ensuring that the school move’s to its permanent site in the next academic session by single handedly putting up a ten classroom and administrative block up to roofing level.
Rev. Sr. Itebalumhe however appealed to all and sundry to help the Bishop in roofing and painting of the school buildings, provide infrastructure, teaching facilities, games and sports facilities, computers and other equipment sets that could enhance the teaching and leaning of our children.
The chairman of the occasion, Sir Eugene Udebu charged individuals to invest their money on their children education and donate generously towards making Rev. Fr. Grace Memorial Education Centre a befitting and modern nursery and primary school in the area.
