Police Seek Public Support

By Mike osarogiagbon

BENIN CITY – Edo State Police Command has called on members of the public to always furnish them with information that can lead to the arrest of criminals in the state, just as it commended those that partnered with the Command in the recent clampdown on some hoodlums in Benin City.

The Command’s image-maker, ASP Peter Ogboi made the call and commendation while interacting with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City on the recent arrest of four armed robbery suspects at different locations in the state capital.

While pleading with members of the public to fully co-operate with the police in making the state uncomfortable for criminals, ASP Ogboi disclosed that some security conscious residents of Etete in Sapele Road area of Benin City, attacked and apprehended one of the four armed robbery suspects, after he had reportedly robbed a lady at gun-point.

The residents, according to ASP Ogboi, on arresting the suspect along with his cut-to-size barrel and a dagger, handed him over to the police who he stated would charge the suspect to court on completion of investigation.
