Enyimba, Coorman In Quit Controversy

ABA-Enyimba’s technical adviser, Maurice Cooreman, says he wants to quit the club despite leading them to a comfortable position in the CAF Champions League group stages.

Shortly after beating TP Mazembe 2-0 in Aba, Cooreman told KickOffNigeria.com that he is no longer happy at Enyimba and will ask the management to pay him off so he can leave.

“I am just coming back from Belgium where I went to attend my daughter’s wedding and the chairman told me that Eguavoen has taken over so I have decided not to stay in the club any more,” Cooreman told Kick Off Nigeria. com.

He was apparently unhappy that he was asked to step aside for one match because of his absence from the training pitch.

“I cannot stay here any more when I have been told to work under somebody who is younger than me and also my junior. I played nine Champions League matches with Enyimba and won seven.
“I have not put it in writing yet but I believe we will talk about it very soon.”

However, Felix Anyansi Agwu told KickOffNigeria.com that he is not aware of any dissension within the ranks of their technical bench.

“Cooreman was in Belgium for his daughter’s wedding and it only made sense that Eguavoen, who had been in charge for the last two weeks, continue, at least for this match, and I do not think that is a problem.

“Cooreman is still our technical adviser; these stories you tell me are strange because as far as I know there is no love lost between us.” Anyansi said.
