UROMI – The Executive members of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Uromi Business District Branch recently paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the District.
This was contained in a press release signed and made available to newsmen by the Public Affairs Officer of the District, Mr. Ntem Caleb.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Union, Mr. Felix Eghaghe, said the purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the Business Manager, Engr. Francis U. Iyayi and the entire Management and also to proffer solution in mowing the District forward through cash collection.
The NUEE Chairman commended Engr. F. U. Iyayi for his steadfastness and swift decision taking method, which has brought the District thus far since his assumption as the Business Manager.
According to Mr. Eghaghe, the investment on projects in the District so far when fully operational will place the District amongst the best in the Zone, in terms of cash collection.
The Chairman went further to say that although the visit was meant to be a familiarization one, he highlighted some tooting problems of the workers-which included, casual arrears, mileage, weekend jobs, productivity bonus and souvenir amongst others.
Responding, the Business Manager Engr. Francis U. Iyayi thanked the Union Executives for their visit and stressed the need for peaceful cooperation amongst staff and Management, adding that the relationship between staff and Management were based on justice and fair play. The Business Manager maintained that Management and NUEE were partners in progress in every decision making process of any organization.
He however promised the NUEE EXCO to look into the aforementioned issues highlighted by the Chairman, with Management team and thereby proffering solutions towards ameliorating them.
