BENIN CITY: The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, on the occasion of his birthday and the anniversary of his coronation on the revered throne of his ancestors.
In a letter dated October 20, 2025, and jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, and Secretary, Andy Egbon, the union extolled the monarch’s reign, describing it as one marked by peace, wisdom, and cultural renaissance.
The NUJ noted that since his ascension to the throne, Oba Ewuare II has remained a beacon of unity, moral strength, and exemplary leadership, preserving the cherished traditions of the Benin Kingdom while embracing modernity in ways that promote development and social harmony.
The statement further commended the Oba’s efforts in fostering community peace, empowering the youth, and promoting Edo’s rich cultural heritage globally.
“As Your Royal Majesty marks this auspicious double celebration, we, members of the union, pray that Almighty God and the ancestors continue to grant Your Majesty good health, divine wisdom, and a long, prosperous reign. May your leadership continue to inspire greatness, peace, and progress in the Kingdom and beyond,” the NUJ stated.
